Violet Windflower

Original size 8"x10" © 2018 Lisabella Russo (formerly Lisa Isabella Russo)

The anemone flower is named for "windflower" in Greek due to the delicacy of their petals. In Greek mythology, these flowers sprang from the tears of Aphrodite (Romans named her Venus) as she mourned for Adonis. Anemone flowers also symbolize protection against evil or ill wishes. These two blossoms have violet purple hues. The art has an impressionist realist feel.

The original painting is an 8"x10" oil painting on canvas.
