A purple clematis flower is in full bloom. The delicate petals and stamen catch and reflect the light. I don't think I've actually seen one of these flowers in person, when I saw this photograph I was captivated by its beauty. This specific flower was photographed by Shawn Parker, who gave me permission to paint his lovely photograph. The art has a realist impressionist feel.
The original painting is a 7"x5" acrylic painting on panel. There is some texture in the background of the original.
