I sat upon a promontory,
And heard a mermaid, on a dolphin's back,
Uttering such dulcet and harmonious breath,
That the rude sea grew civil at her song;
And certain stars shot madly from their spheres,
To hear the sea-maid's music.
- William Shakespeare
Usually in the deep of the ocean, this mermaid basks in the warmth of the sun. She wears a seashell necklace. With her eyes closed, her dark blue green hair surrounding her, this gothic beauty takes a moment to appreciate the grace of the day before she begins her song.
The original painting is sold.
