Remembrance (Recuerdo)

Original size 11"x14" © 2014 Lisa Isabella Russo

Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead was my inspiration for this piece. This is my first Día de Muertos Catrina sugar skull inspired piece. This surreal gothic big eye fantasy girl has big brown eyes and calavera makeup and two red roses in her blue black hair. DDLD / DOTD is a celebration, initially of Mexican origin, that remembers those who are gone from us that we still hold in our hearts.

The original painting is an 11"x14" acrylic painting on panel, there is some texture in the background. It is also available as an 8"x10" Open Edition giclee print and as a 2.5"x3.5" Limited Edition ACEO giclee print with some cropping. The ACEO edition is limited to 25. To see the cropped version in advance, please email me.

The original painting has been accepted to the Day of the Dead Exhibit at the San Juan Capistrano Library and will be displayed there from 10/2-11/27. If you would like to purchase the original and have me ship it to you after it is returned from the show, please contact me regarding price and availability.
