Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead was my inspiration for this piece. This gothic big eye fantasy girl has big brown eyes and calavera makeup and is a sugar skull inspired piece. DDLD / DOTD is a celebration, initially of Mexican origin, that remembers those who are gone from us that we still hold in our hearts. She is surrounded by monarch butterflies, to some the monarch butterfly holds a special significance of ancestors returning. This art piece has a surreal lowbrow feel.
