This is a self portrait, I don't paint very many of them. It is not accurate on a technical level, my hair is not purple and my skin is not shaded with blue and so on, but it does capture how I was feeling when I painted the portrait. It was painted at a difficult time in my life. I feel very grateful for my life right now. I hope that if you are having a difficult time, there will come a corner to pass where the place you are in improves. I think that even in the darkest times, hope is important. It has a lowbrow surreal impressionist feel.
